The EU Consumer and Competition Day will be held on 18 April. The theme of this event is: “Fading borders, shifting roles? Innovation inspired policy and regulatory oversight in the digital economy”. Commissioners Vestager (COMP) and Jourová (JUS and CONS) will deliver keynote speeches.

This interactive conference and networking event focuses on innovation-inspired policy from the perspective of competition and consumer protection. The European meeting is aimed at policy experts, enforcement experts, and consumer and trade associations on competition and consumer protection. Participants will attend presentations and break-out sessions on the challenges for regulators and policymakers concerning digital markets.

The themes of the event will be:

  • online platforms: a competition and consumer perspective;
  • impact of digitization on governance and market relations in the energy market;
  • developments regarding CPC and a competition-oversight perspective on online markets.

The Consumer and Competition Day is organised by the Ministry of Economic Affairs and the Netherlands Authority for Consumers and Markets (ACM). It will be held in the Europe building in Amsterdam.
