• 1. 

  Sybrand van Haersma Buma (1965) is sinds 26 augustus 2019 burgemeester van Leeuwarden. Hij was van 12 oktober 2010 tot 21 mei 2019 fractievoorzitter van het CDA in de Tweede Kamer en van 23 mei 2002 tot 29 mei 2019 Tweede Kamerlid. Bij de verkiezingen in van 2012 en 2017 was hij lijsttrekker van het CDA. De heer Buma was beleidsmedewerker justitie en plaatsvervangend ambtelijk secretaris van de CDA-Tweede Kamerfractie. In de Tweede Kamer hield hij zich tot hij fractievoorzitter werd vooral bezig met justitie (veiligheidsbeleid). Hij was fractiesecretaris en had zitting in het Presidium van de Kamer.

  Esther de Lange (1975) was a member of the European Parliament from 12 April 2007 to 16 February 2024 as an independent member, and was aligned with the European People's Party. She took seat in Parliament on behalf of the Netherlands.

  Valdis Dombrovskis (1971) is a Commission Vice-President on behalf of Latvia. In the Von der Leyen Commission he is responsible for an economy that works for people, and since 2020 trade. In september 2023 he also became executive president for the Green Deal. In the Juncker Commission he held the post of Commissioner for the euro and social dialogue and later also in charge of financial stability, financial services, and capital markets union. Dombrovskis is a member of the New Era Party (JL), which is aligned with the European People's Party. He held a seat in the European Parliament from 2004-2009 and proceeded to serve as prime minister of his country.

  Jean-Claude Juncker (1945) is the president of the European Commission. Juncker is a member of the Luxembourg party Christian Social People's Party (CVP), which is aligned with the European People's Party. Juncker server as prime minister of Luxembourg for nearly twenty years.
   
• 5. 

  Johannes Hahn (1957) is the European Commissioner on behalf of Austria. In the Von der Leyen Commission he is responsible for the budget and administration. In the Juncker Commission he was the European Commissioner for European neighbourhood policy and enlargement negotiations and in the Barroso II Commission for regional development. Hahn is a member of the Austrian People's Party (ÖVP), which is aligned with the European People's Party.

  Angela Merkel (1954) was van 22 november 2005 tot 8 december 2021 bondskanselier van Duitsland. Zij leidde sinds 2018 een coalitie van CDU/CSU met de SPD. Zij is scheikundige en werkte als wetenschapper in de DDR. In 1990 werd zij voor de CDU lid van de Bondsdag. In 1991-1994 was Angela Merkel minister voor vrouwen- en jeugdzaken en in 1994-1998 minister van milieu. In 2000 volgde zij Helmut Kohl op als voorzitter van de CDU.

  Nicolas Sarkozy (1955) was in 2007-2012 president van Frankrijk. Hij was advocaat, burgemeester en Kamerlid en onder president Chirac enkele keren minister (van Binnenlandse Zaken en van financiën en Economische Zaken). Hij was politiek leider van de conservatief-liberale partij UMP.

  De Bulgaarse Kristalina Georgieva (1953) was in 2010-2017 lid van de Europese Commissie. Vanaf november 2014 was zij in de Commissie-Juncker vicevoorzitter en commissaris belast met begroting en personeelsbeleid. In de Commissie-Barroso (2010-2014) had zij de portefeuille humanitaire hulp. Mevrouw Georgieva werkte sinds 1993 bij de Wereldbank en was vicepresident van die bank. Zij is een deskundige op het gebied van duurzame ontwikkeling, was hoogleraar in Sofia en bekleedde wereldwijd gasthoogleraarschappen aan diverse universiteiten. Mevrouw Georgieva behoort tot de centrumrechtse GERB. Sinds 1 oktober 2019 is zij directeur van het IMF.

  Marianne Thyssen (1956) is the European Commissioner for employment, social affairs, skills, and labour mobility in the Juncker Commission on behalf of Belgium. Thyssen is a member of the Christian Democratic and Flemish (CD&V), which is aligned with the European People's Party. She held a seat in the European Parliament before her tenure at the Commission.
   
• 10. 

  Miguel Arias Cañete (1950) is the European Commissioner for climate action and energy in the Juncker Commission on behalf of Spain. Cañete is a member of the People's Party (PP), which is aligned with the European People's Party. He served in various ministerial posts before his tenure as Commissioner.
   
• 11. 

  De Europese Volkspartij (EVP) is de partij van christendemocratische stromingen in de Europese Unie en in enkele buurlanden van de EU. Het Nederlandse CDA en de ChristenUnie zijn aangesloten bij de EVP, evenals bijvoorbeeld de Christlich Demokratische Union Deutschlands (CDU) en de Christlich-Soziale Union in Bayern (CSU) uit Duitsland, het Franse Les Républicains, de Spaanse Partido Popular en het Italiaanse Forza Italia.
