Tallinn Zoo in Estonia will hold the 2018 edition of the biennial EAZA Conservation Forum, bringing together over 100 representatives of zoos, aquariums, conservation organisations and in situ conservation projects for three days of workshops, presentations and networking activities.

The Forum's programme features a session devoted to LIFE and EU funding opportunities for conservation. Anita Fassio will introduce the LIFE programme on behalf of the European Commission's Executive Agency for Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (EASME). Beneficiaries will present field experience from the LIFE+ Northern Bald Ibis and the WildForestReindeerLIFE projects. LIFE representatives will also man an information stand to share past project results and answer questions about the programme.

The European Association of Zoos and Aquariums (EAZA) puts LIFE NGO funds to work on wildlife conservation. In addition to saving endangered species through ex situ breeding programmes, many of its members take part in activities to protect habitats and ecosystems. The EAZA Conservation Forum 2018 offers an opportunity for zoos and aquariums to exchange nature conservation experience with peers from across Europe.
