Visiting Brussels? Don't miss Parlamentarium and House of European History - Main contents
Discover the Parlamentarium in Brussels
If you have the chance to be in Brussels this summer, check out our visitors centre Parlamentarium and the newly opened House of European History.
Parlamentarium
In our visitors centre Parlamentarium, you can learn about the functioning of the European parliament and get familiar with the daily work of MEPs. The centre offers multimedia and interactive exhibition as well as a role game for students, which has to be booked in advance. Temporary exhibitions are also organised on a regular basis. Apart from this, Parlamentarium also offers a special tour for children. Parliament also has a similar visitor centre in Berlin - Erlebnis Europa. At the beginning of July, we also opened a Parlamentarium in Strasbourg.
The House of European History opened in Brussels earlier this year
House of European History
Just a short walk away from Parlamentarium, the House of European History offers a unique view on the events that shaped our common history. The permanent exhibition covers the convictions and beliefs that defined the 19th century before moving on to consider Europe’s descent into war and destruction. This is followed by the search for a better life in an increasingly united Europe. It also features several temporary exhibitions.
The Parlamentarium can be visited free of charge
For free and in your language
Both Parlamentarium and the House of European history are open seven days a week and are free to enter. The explanations are provided in all of the EU's 24 official languages. A visit to either one normally takes about 90 minutes. Find out more practical information by clicking on the links below.
