Activity report: The European Ports Forum expert group shall provide advice and expertise to the Commission in relation to Ports issues. The first meeting of the European Ports Forum took place on 11 December 2017. Meetings limited to the Member States authorities may also be convened, with the first meeting taking place on 10 June 2021.
Selection procedure: The group shall consist of up to 60 members in total: Member States' authorities; organisations that represent at European level port authorities, providers of port services, users of maritime ports (shippers, logistic operators and ship-owners, rail, inland navigation and intermodal transport operators serving ports), the industry producing port equipment, port employees, the main port-cities and non-governmental organisations protecting the environment; other public entities such as the International Transport Forum.

Selection procedure: The members "type C/ Organisations" of the group were selected via a public call for applications. The selection process was completed on July 12, 2017 and members are now listed in the member section of this group.
Selection procedure: The call for selection of members "type C/ Organisations" of the sub-group Sustainable Ports was launched. “In order to be considered in the first round of evaluations and be able to attend the first meeting of the sub-group if selected, applicants are expected to send duly signed applications by 17 December 2018 at the latest.”

Selection procedure: DG MOVE has then established the sub-group on sustainable ports (theSustainable Ports sub-group) for the purpose of examining specific questions on the basis of terms of reference that were defined by DG MOVE after consultation of the members of the EPF. The sub-group shall consist of up to 35 members in total DG MOVE is calling for applications with a view to selecting members (Type C) of the sub-group. This number includes Member States' authorities, organisations and other public entities already members of the EPF which will notify their intention to participate in the work of the sub-group and nominate a representative with the appropriate expertise. The mandate of the sub-group is to support the EPF in sharing and promoting initiatives that can enhance the sustainable development of the ports, of port managing and operating bodies and of the different actors active in the port area.
Rules of procedure: The internal rules of procedure of the group have been discussed and adopted at the occasion of the first meeting of the group on 11 December 2017.
