Greek PM wants EU parliament to join troika - Main contents

Greek prime minister Tsipras on Wednesday asked that the European Parliament joins the group of four creditors overseeing its bailout deal. "I deem it politically imperative that the sole European institution with direct popular mandate acts as the ultimate guarantor", he wrote in a letter to EP president Schulz.
