Voornaamste agendapunten
De Samenwerkingsraad tussen de Europese Unie en Irak zal op zondag 19 maart 2023 in Brussel zijn 3e zitting houden, onder voorzitterschap van de hoge vertegenwoordiger van de Unie voor buitenlandse zaken en veiligheidsbeleid, Josep Borrell. De minister van Buitenlandse Zaken, Fuad Mohammed Hussein, zal de Iraakse delegatie voorzitten.
De Samenwerkingsraad zal de ontwikkelingen in Irak en de EU bespreken, regionale aangelegenheden en veiligheid, en onderwerpen als migratie, democratie en mensenrechten, handel en energie.
Ook zal een besluit volgen over de oprichting van een nieuw subcomité ontwikkelingssamenwerking.
The Foreign Affairs Council (FAC) is composed of the ministers of foreign affairs, defense and/or development of the Member States of the European Union.
In the Council of the European Union, the ministers from the EU Member States take a joint decision on the policy to be implemented within the EU. The Council is supported by the Committee of Permanent Representatives, which prepares decisions and guards the implementation and adherence of the decisions monitored by the Council.
