EU foreign ministers to hold an informal meeting in Sofia - Main contents

As part of the Bulgarian Presidency of the Council of the European Union, Sofia will host on February, 15-16 an informal meeting of the EU foreign ministers (Gymnich).
On the 15th, the ministers will open the meeting with a working lunch on Syria, to be followed by two working sessions. The first one is about to debate on the Western Balkans in the light of the recently published by the Commission Strategy on “a credible enlargement perspective for and enhanced EU engagement with the Western Balkans”. Afterwards, ministers will deliberate the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (DPRK) and the EU’s policy towards it.
On the 16th the foreign ministers of the five EU candidate countries will join the meeting.
