Mission: The SCHEER, on request of Commission services, addresses questions on: •health and environmental risks related to pollutants in the environmental media and other biological and physical factors, for example in relation to air quality, water, waste and soils. It also addresses issues related to the toxicity and eco-toxicity of biocides and of chemical, biochemical and biological compounds not addressed by other EU bodies. •complex or multidisciplinary issues requiring a comprehensive assessment of risks to consumer safety or public health, for example antimicrobial resistance, nanotechnologies, medical devices and physical hazards such as noise and electromagnetic fields.

Task: Assist the Commission in the preparation of legislative proposals and policy initiatives
