Live: Eurogroup president discusses latest economic developments

The economic committee will this week discuss the latest economic developments with Jeroen Dijsselbloem, president of the Eurogroup, which is composed of the euro zone's finance ministers. Follow it live on our website on Thursday 4 September from 9.00 until 10.30 CET.

Halting economic growth and the risk of deflation in the euro zone are likely to be discussed between MEPs and Mr Dijsselbloem, who is also the Netherlands' finance minister. The members of the economic committee will also have the opportunity to bring up the specific recommendations for each country, which the Council adopted in June.

According to an agreement reached with Mr Dijsselbloem's predecessor, the president of the Eurogroup comes to the Parliament twice a year to discuss the state of the economy.
