Generation Y- High-tech industry in Europe in search of skilled young people

Companies increasingly must play an active role in training young people and helping them obtain the right skills needed on the labour market.

High-tech industry in Eindhoven is a relevant example in this regard, companies receiving lots of talented youngsters from other countries to do traineeships thanks to international projects run by their training centres. In this way, they make the best of the Leonardo da Vinci i programme, a European Union scheme that supports mobility for vocational training.

In the video-clip below, Spanish youngsters train in high-tech industries in Eindhoven. The European Union's Leonardo da Vinci programme now funds 80.000 transnational placements a year to help prepare today's youth for working life.
