Military Committee of the European Union (EUMC)

The European Union Military Committee (EUMC) is the highest military body set up within the Council. It:

    directs all EU military activities
  • - 
    advises the Political and Security Committee and gives recommendations on military matters.

Composition

The EUMC is composed of the chiefs of defence of the member states, who are regularly represented by their permanent military representatives.

The EUMC has a permanent chair, selected by the national chiefs of defence and appointed by the Council.
