table>(1)The Agreement between the European Union, of the one part, and the Government of the Faroe Islands, of the other part, on the participation of the Faroe Islands in Union programmes (1) (the ‘Agreement’) was signed by the Union on, and has been provisionally applied since, 24 May 2022 in accordance with Council Decision (EU) 2022/886 (2).
(2)Article 14(1) of the Agreement establishes the Joint Committee composed of representatives of the Parties to ensure the administration and proper implementation of the Agreement.

(3)Article 14(3) of the Agreement provides that the Joint Committee is to adopt its Rules of Procedure.

(4)At its second meeting to be held in the second half of 2023, the Joint Committee is expected to adopt a decision adopting its Rules of Procedure.

(5)It is appropriate to establish the position to be taken on the Union’s behalf within the Joint Committee with regard to the adoption of its Rules of Procedure.

(6)The position of the Union within the Joint Committee should therefore be based on the attached draft Decision,
