Daphne Caruana Galizia Journalism Prize

The Parliaments’s new journalism prize, named for murdered Maltese investigative journalist Daphne Caruana Galizia, will open for submissions on Tuesday. The annual Daphne Caruana Galizia Prize for Journalism will be awarded to outstanding journalism that promotes or defends the EU's core principles and values.

Plenary

Climate law

MEPs will debate and vote on the new EU climate law on Thursday, which raises the EU’s 2030 emissions reduction target to at least 55% with climate neutrality by 2050.

Greener funds for regional development and cooperation

Parliament is also set to approve €243 billion to help EU regions level up. The funds will support social rights, climate action and recovery from the pandemic.

Sexual and reproductive rights

Parliament will vote on a report urging EU countries to protect and increase women’s sexual and reproductive health and rights, including access to safe and legal abortion.

Supercomputing

On Thursday, MEPs will vote on a proposal for the European High Performance Computing Joint Undertaking, which aims to provide world-class supercomputing and data infrastructure in the EU. MEPs want to ensure it serves Europeans, research institutions and administrations.

Committees

Strengthening the European Medicines Agency

On Tuesday, the public health committee will vote on a proposal to strengthening the role of the European Medicines Agency in crisis preparedness and in managing medicines and medical devices.
