Informal Meetings of Agriculture and Fisheries Ministers

On 14 and 15 June, the European Union (EU i) Ministers of Agriculture and Fisheries will be gathered in Lisbon for in-person informal meetings of ministers.

Informal Meeting of Agriculture Ministers

On 14 June, the Agriculture Ministers will make a technical visit to Companhia das Lezírias, a state-run agriculture and forestry enterprise, while the Special Committee on Agriculture takes place at the Centro Cultural de Belém (CCB), with the permanent representatives of the Member States in Brussels.

On 15 June in the morning, also at the CCB, will be held the Informal Meeting of Agriculture Ministers, chaired by the Portuguese Minister, Maria do Céu Antunes, on the topic of “Food Systems, Innovation and Natural Resource Management”, which will be preceded by a talk from Professor Elvira Fortunato (09h40, Lisbon time).

A press conference is scheduled for 12h30 (Lisbon time) and will take place in hybrid format.

Informal Meeting of Fisheries Ministers

On the same day, at 14h45 (Lisbon time), the Fisheries Ministers will gather for their informal meeting, chaired by the Portuguese Minister of the Sea, Ricardo Serrão Santos, discussions will focus on the Common Fisheries Policy in the context of the European Green Deal i and the Sustainable Blue Economy Strategy, themes of the “Ocean Month”, an initiative from the Portuguese Presidency of the Council of the EU.

This will be followed by a press conference, scheduled for 17h00 (Lisbon time), which will take place in hybrid format.
