EU-US Justice and Home Affairs Senior Officials Meeting

The EU-US Justice and Home Affairs Senior Official Meeting took place in Rovinj on 5 and 6 March 2020. The two-day meeting was chaired by State Secretary of the Ministry of the Interior Terezija Gras and Assistant Minister of Justice Ivan Crnčec.

The first day of the meeting was dedicated to Justice part with the emphasis on implementation of the existing EU-US judical cooperation agreements, artificial intelligence, justice in cyberspace and resillience of electoral systems.

During the second-day Home Affairs session, the focus was put on counterrorism cooperation, the implementation of the Passenger Name Record (PNR), racially-motivated violent extremism, cybersecurity and critical infrastructure as well as on border management, migration and visa policies.

The discussion highlighted some of the common challenges, as well as the benefits of our mutual cooperation in the area of Justice and Home Affairs and will be taken further at the EU-US Ministerial Meeting in May.
