Upcoming event: Informal Meeting of EU Defence Ministers

An informal EU i Defence Ministers Meeting will be held in Zagreb on 4 and 5 March 2020. The meeting will be hosted by the Croatian Deputy Prime Minister and Defence Minister Damir Krstičević and chaired by the High Representative of the Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Josep Borrell i. 4 March 2020

The EU defence ministers will gather for a working dinner at the National and University Library in Zagreb at 19:00. Media representatives will have an opportunity to cover the arrivals at the National and University Library VIP entrance from 17:30. Welcome handshakes and the family photo will be covered by the host broadcaster and official photographer only. Live footage will be available at the EBS and the official photos at Flickr.

On the same evening, at 21:05, media will have an opportunity to cover the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding concerning co-operation in the Project ‘Cyber Rapid Response Teams and Mutual Assistance in Cyber Security’. The signing will be followed by the statements of Damir Krstičević, Deputy Prime Minister and Defence Minister of the Republic of Croatia and Raimundas Karoblis, Minister of National Defence of the Republic of Lithuania.

5 March 2020

The working sessions will be held at the Westin Hotel in Ulica Izidora Kršnjavog in Zagreb. Ministers will discuss defence-related priorities, and the meeting will be chaired by EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Josep Borrell. There will be a photo opportunity and coverage of the roundtable at 8:30.

Following the working sessions, High Representative Josep Borrell and Deputy Prime Minister and Defence Minister Damir Krstičević will hold a press conference at 12:15.

The accredited media representatives will also have an opportunity to cover the signing of the Memorandum between the Ministry of Defence of the Republic of Croatia and the Ministry of Defence of Hungary on the establishment of a Multinational Divisional Command for Central Europe, which will also take place in the Westin Hotel at 12:45.

The Meeting is open only to accredited media representatives.
