Committee on Cultural Affairs

This committee of the Council is responsible for cultural affairs. It evaluates and discusses proposals and initiatives regarding EU cooperation in the field of culture. Several topics are specifically listed as of importance to this committee:

  • the European capitals of culture
  • the European heritage label
  • the creative Europe programme (culture)
  • the Europe for citizens programme
