Once again, the European Research Council will be attending the annual meeting of the American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS), this time in Seattle, WA. This is the world’s largest general scientific meeting, where scientists, educators, policy-makers, and journalists gather to discuss cutting-edge developments in science, technology and policy.

The new ERC President, Mauro Ferrari, will attend and is available to meet the media on Saturday 15 February at 11:45 AM - 12:45 PM at the EU booth (n. 203) in the main exhibition hall, Seattle Convention Centre.

The EU career session European Union Grants: Shake Up Your Research Abroad will take place on Saturday 15 February at 10:00 - 11:30 AM with ERC grantee Liesbet Geris.

The ERC will also be present at the EU booth (n.203) in the main exhibition hall - artists Fiammetta Ghedini, Lorenzo Palloni and Francesco Guarnaccia, from the project ERCcOMICS, will be present to answer your questions and sign their work.

European Research Council (ERCEA)

The European Research Council (ERC) is part of the EU's Seventh Research Framework Programme (FP7). It is set up by the European Commission to support investigator-driven frontier research and was established in February 2007 on the basis of the FP7 IDEAS specific programme, with a total budget of 7.5 billion Euro (2007-2013).

Its main aim is to stimulate scientific excellence in Europe by supporting and encouraging the very best, truly creative scientists, scholars and engineers, who are invited to submit their individual proposals in any field of research.
