The 85th International Green Week (IGW) will take place in Berlin, Germany from 17-26 January 2020. The renowned international fair on food, agriculture and gardening welcomes approximately 400 000 visitors every year, and has showcased new developments and innovation since its foundation in 1926.

The department of agriculture and rural development and the department of health and food safety will be present with a stand on the theme “From farm to fork - sustainable food for our future". The EU’s added value in ensuring safe and sustainable food for all European citizens will be highlighted. The stand will focus on a number of key themes, such as the European Green Deal, soils, biodiversity, quality policy, antimicrobial resistance, food waste, food fraud/traceability, and plant health. These themes will be further explored through animations.

Directorate-General for Agriculture and Rural Development (AGRI)

This Directorate-General is responsible for the implementation of the agricultural and rural development policies of the Commission. The DG deals with all aspects of the common agricultural policy (CAP).

Directorate-General for Health and Food Safety (SANTE)

This Directorate-General is responsible for EU legislation in the areas of food safety, safety of products and public health.
