Agenda highlights

The Croatian presidency will organise a third video conference of EU transport ministers since the beginning of the COVID-19 crisis. This informal video conference will focus on the sustainability and digital aspects of the recovery within the transport sector.

Ministers will discuss possible initiatives and investments which member states see as the most urgent in the recovery and which can strengthen the resilience of the sector. They will also exchange views on the best short, medium and long-term measures to ensure a green and smart recovery.

The COVID-19 outbreak has had a major impact on transport and connectivity in the EU, which in turn has affected the whole EU economy. Measures to contain the outbreak have resulted in a significant reduction in transport activity, especially in passenger transport. Thanks to collective EU efforts, freight transport has continued via the green lanes initiative and the lifting of bans for air freight.

Under any other business, the upcoming German presidency will present the priorities for its presidency term.
