The European Regulators Group for Postal Services (ERGP) workshop on data driven regulation of postal services was a unique opportunity to discuss the data that is relevant for the regulation of the sector and to discuss the experiences of all stakeholders regarding the use of data to regulate and supervise the postal market.
Session 1 of the workshop, 'Postal data: which data do we need?', was the chance to discuss the current ways of collecting and disseminating regulatory data by ERGP, the European Commission and other regulatory bodies, and the data necessary to regulate properly the sector.
In Session 2, 'Cross border parcel delivery services regulation: how are we doing so far and lessons for the future', discussions focused on the implementation of the cross border parcel delivery services regulation with a focus on the collection of information. The experiences of the national regulatory authorities and providers during this current collection exercise were also discussed.
