FRA has been regularly visiting Greek migration hotspots since 2016.

These visits serve as a basis for evidence-based fundamental rights support and advice to Greek authorities, the European Commission and relevant EU agencies.

On 14 and 15 October, FRA’s Director will visit Lesvos and meet with national authorities in Athens, where he will discuss how the Agency can best support authorities in addressing fundamental rights challenges in the hotspots.

The Director will also provide Greek authorities with an update on the current and past activities as well as outline the FRA’s future plans in Greece.
