AFCO/LIBE hearing of Vice-President designate Věra Jourová

The Committee on Legal Affairs (JURI) participated as an associated committee in the hearing of Vice President-designate for Values and Transparency, Věra Jourová. The hearing will take place on Monday, 7 October 2019 from 14:30 to 17:30.

The Vice-President for Values and Transparency would jointly work with the European Parliament and the Council on the establishment of an independent ethics body common to all EU institutions, on upholding the rule of law and on increasing the transparency of the legislative process. In this term, the Commission's work on the rule of law will also focus on instruments for the monitoring of application of Union law, better law making and ensuring the proper functioning of justice systems.
