Tuesday's commissioner hearings: Dombrovskis, Vestager, Timmermans and Wojciechowski - Main contents
Tuesday's hearings feature Valdis Dombrovskis (Latvia), Margrethe Vestager (Denmark) and Frans Timmermans (the Netherlands) as well as Janusz Wojciechowski (Poland).
Following the hearing of commissioner-designate for agriculture Janusz Wojciechowski on 1 October, MEPs asked him additional written questions and have invited him to a resumed hearing. This hearing will take place Tuesday 8 October at 11.00 CET and will last for an hour and a half.
Before the European Parliament votes the new European Commission, led by Ursula von der Leyen, into office, parliamentary committees assess the suitability of the commissioners-designate.
Each candidate commissioner is invited to a live-streamed, three-hour hearing in front of the committee or committees responsible for their proposed portfolio. The hearings take place between Monday 30 September and Tuesday 8 October.
