Energy, environment and climate, EU regional and urban development,
The European week of regions and cities is an annual four-day event. Here, cities and regions can show their capacity to create growth and jobs, implement EU cohesion policy, and highlight why the local and regional level matter for good European governance. A panel discussion will take place on 10 October covering the Circular Plastic Alliance as it relates to 'a greener Europe'.
The Circular Plastics Alliance already presented its declaration on 20 September. It describes the commitments for voluntary action by the alliance to reach the 10 million tonnes target. All companies, trade associations and public authorities that share the alliance's vision and actively want to contribute can sign the declaration.
Regions and cities play a key role in plastic waste management and circular plastics. The session will discuss how regions and cities can best support the alliance and why it could be in their interest to join.
