Mission: With a view to maintaining the spirit of cooperation and policy dialogue achieved during the European Year of Cultural Heritage, the group will provide the Commission with advice and expertise, as well as to serve as a platform for consultation and exchange of information on cultural heritage policies to support the implementation of the European Framework for Action on Cultural Heritage

Task: other (- to exchange information between the Commission, Member States and stakeholders operating in the area of culture and cultural heritage on questions relating to the development of international, European and national legislations, programmes and policies in the field of Europe’s cultural heritage; - to provide the Commission with experts reports, opinions and analysis regarding to EU legislation, EU funding programmes and policies in the field of Europe’s cultural heritage or having an impact on Europe’s cultural heritage; - to monitor and if needed provide recommendations regarding the implementation of the European Framework for Action on Cultural Heritage, including its five strategic objectives and related clusters of -- to bring about an exchange of experience and good practice related to the management of cultural heritage at different levels of governance, with a view to developing a more integrated approach to its safeguarding and valorization.)

Selection procedure: Members of this group shall also be Member States' authorities with responsibilities for cultural heritage policies (type D). They were appointed via Permanent Representations (Cultural Affairs Committee) Representatives of relevant international organisations (type E) were appointed on the basis of an invitation letter from the Commission.

Selection procedure: Members of this group shall be individuals in a personal capacity, having an extensive expertise in protection, management and enhancement of cultural heritage (Type A members) and European organisations active in the field of culture and cultural heritage (Type C members). The A and C type members have been selected via an open call for application (the deadline for applying was on 21 May 2019) and are published in the Register of Expert Groups.
