Minister of Culture and National Identity, Valer-Daniel Breaz, presented the Romanian priorities in the field of culture

Between 21-24 January 2019, Minister of Culture and National Identity, Valer-Daniel Breaz, holds for a series of bilateral meetings in the context of Romania’s presidency of the Council of the European Union.

On January 22, in the European Parliament, the official presented the Romanian priorities in the field of culture.

“During our Presidency of the Council of the European Union, our goal is to be a balancing factor for all legislative and non-legislative priorities managed at EU level. Promoting the culture of EU countries around the world is one of our priorities. During our mandate, we will responsibly exercise our role as mediator and honest broker’, pointed out the Romanian official.

Valer-Daniel Breaz, Minister of Culture and National Identity, and Catherine Bearder i, chairman of the Artistic Committee and Quaestor responsible for the art collection of the European Parliament then inaugurated the contemporary Romanian art exhibition ‘CONSTRUCTION / COMMUNICATION’. Its theme encompasses the motto of the Romanian Presidency exhibitions - “Architecture is inhabited sculpture” the words of the famous Romanian artist, Constantin Brâncuşi. The exhibition revolves around the idea that construction and communication are closely related human values.

“The artists whose works are present in the exhibition are brought together by this very fertile concept of CONSTRUCTION / COMMUNICATION - remembering that space and time only have meaning if we define them with our own lives”, said the Minister of Culture and National Identity.
