Debate: Another budget surplus: is the Netherlands rich?

Next year, the Dutch government expects to achieve the fifth budget surplus in a row. On October 2nd 2019, the causes and consequences of this surplus were being discussed. Wimar Bolhuis introduced the topic. Martin van Rooijen, Joris Backer en Francine Giskes took part in the panel. Ferry Mingelen moderated the debate.

    The Filmhuis Den Haag (movie theater The Hague) is an independent arthouse showing primarily films that are not shown in regular cinemas. The Filmhuis Den Haag also organises lectures, debate evenings, workshops and educational screenings.

    International press centre Nieuwspoort (English: news gate) is a meeting point for politicians, journalists, lobbyists and press officers. Press conferences by politicians and ministers often take place at Nieuwspoort.

    ProDemos is the 'House for Democracy and the Rule of Law'. ProDemos explains the Dutch govermental system and the rule of law to students, tourists, members of political organisations and other guests. The ProDemos Visitor Centre is located directly opposite the Houses of Parliament (Binnenhof) in The Hague. From here ProDemos provides guided tours, educational programmes, debates, exhibitions, and courses.
