On December 5th, Elke Konig will speak at the European Central Bank's Colloquium in honour of outgoing Single Supervisory Mechanism head, Danièle Nouy. Entitled 'Promoting safe and sound banks in the SSM', the event will look at the chair's legacy while also looking forward. Dr König will respond to the theme 'SSM: Taking a snapshot of the future' alongside others from the ECB and figures from industry.
The Single Resolution Board (SRB) is the new European Banking Union's resolution authority. It is a key element of the Banking Union and its Single Resolution Mechanism. Its mission is to ensure the orderly resolution of failing banks, with as little impact as possible on the real economy and public finances of the participating EU countries and others.
