Mission: The Commission expert group on LULUCF (LULUCFEG) shall assist DG CLIMA with the implementation of Article 8 of Regulation (EU) 2018/841 (the LULUCF regulation). The LULUCFEG shall assist the Commission in carrying out the technical assessment of the national forestry accounting plans with a view to establishing the forest reference levels to be applied by the Member States in the first and second compliance periods (from 2021 to 2025, and from 2026 to 2030).

Selection procedure: The members of this group are the representatives of the Member States, Norway and Iceland. It is for the authority of each Member State, Norway and Iceland to decide on who will represent them. In addition, the EFTA Surveillance Authority shall be represented in this group. Other members of this group (Type A and Type C members) are selected via a call for applications, which is open from 5 December 2018 to 4 January 2019.
