Rens Vliegenthart is professor at and scientific director of the Amsterdam School of Communication Research (ASCoR) at the University of Amsterdam. His research focuses on the role of media in society, and specifically, the way media and politics interact. Vliegenthart seeks to identify medium and long term trends, and has a penchant for using various quantative methods. He is also involved in several academic boards and committees.
