SRSP - Increase of financial envelope and adaptation of its objective - 25 June 2018 - Main contents
On Monday, 25 June 2018, the Members of the REGI committee adopted the draft report: "Structural reform support programme 2017-2020: financial envelope and general objective" (2017/0334(COD)) amending the Structural Reform Support Programme (SRSP). The rapporteur, Ms Ruža Tomašić (ECR), considers that the budget increase is justified and that the extension of the programme to projects supporting preparations for euro area membership will bring benefits. The amendments proposed by the rapporteur concentrate on strengthening the concept of European added value for SRSP projects and on the importance of involving regional and local authorities. The overall financial envelope for the SRSP is increased from EUR 142.8 million to EUR 222.8 million, which could be further complemented through the technical assistance budget, taking the total to around EUR 300 million.
