The Strategic energy technology (SET) plan is a key strategic instrument of European energy technology policy. Until 2020, the SET Plan will provide the framework for the development and implementation of cost-efficient low-emission energy technologies needed to achieve EU targets.
Every year, a SET Plan conference is organised to discuss both the current challenges regarding a sustainable European energy transition and achievements reached so far. The event offers a prestigious international platform for an open discussion on the main issues of the current EU energy research and innovation policy.
With this conference, which will take place under the 2018 Austrian Presidency of the Council of the EU, Austria will position itself as a forerunner in important SET Plan topics (such as energy efficient buildings and cities, sustainable energy systems and energy efficiency in industry).
