About the event:

Estonia is about to complete the first half of its EU council presidency.

With the multi-facetted challenges the European Union is currently facing, Estonia has ascribed itself to the Motto of ‘Unity through balance’ in order to reconcile the EU Member States.

Estonia aspires to reach this through its four priorities of an open and innovative economy, security, the creation of a digital Europe with free movement of data, and ultimately a Europe that is inclusive and sustainable.

But what does this mean in practice? How will the Baltic state, which is known to manage almost all its public services electronically, transfer its know-how on the EU level? In what way can Estonia promote an open economy in light of high opposition to trade agreements? To what extend will it influence the advancements of the European Defence Cooperation?

Join us as these and other topics will be elaborated and discussed by Estonian Prime Minister Jüri Ratas himself.
