President Tajani visits Croatia - Main contents
Parliament President Antonio Tajani met up with leading politicians during a visit to Croatia on 19 May.

Parliament President Antonio Tajani was in Croatia for an official visit on 19 May where he met the country's president Kolinda Grabar-Kitarović, Parliament Speaker Gordan Jandroković and Prime Minister Andrej Plenković.
Tajani also gave a speech on the future of Europe at the Croatian Academy of Sciences and Arts, which also touched upon the key role Croatia must play, both as a member of the European Union and as a strong advocate for stability in the region.
"I am convinced that Croatia’s accession to the European Union is a resounding success," he said. "Single market membership and EU funding have helped to contribute to the country’s increasing growth in recent years. Croatia has left the crisis in its wake and employment is growing. The country’s stability is essential so that - also due to Brexit - it can make its voice heard more in Europe. Croatia has a key role in promoting stability and peace in the Balkans. This is one of the reasons why the European Union needs Croatia to be a strong model for integration and development in the region."
President Tajani also met Furio Radin, the chair of the Croatian parliament’s human and national minority rights committee.
