ACRE will organize an event with the Finns Party on Europe's relationship with Russia in the Parliament of Finland on 23 November 2016.

This seminar aims to discuss the relations between Finland, Russia, Europe and the West as well as the latest EU sanctions against Russia and the security environment in the region.

Speakers will include the Minister of Defence of Finland Jussi Niinistö, Simon Elo MP, Kristi Raik from the Finnish Institute of International Affairs, Hanna Smith from the Aleksanteri Institute, Professor Emeritus Matti Klinge and Arto Luukkanen from the University of Helsinki, Keith Boyfield from the Centre for Policy Studies, and the Chair of the Finnish Foreign Affairs Committee Matti Vanhanen.

This seminar will try to answer the following questions: how did we end up in the present situation of heightened tensions? What is the way forward? And what is Finland’s role as Russia’s neighbour?

ACRE will organize this event in cooperation with its member party, the Finns Party, which is in charge of Foreign Affairs in the present Finnish government. The event will be open to the media. If you want to attend the event, please register here.
