Mission: To assist in, and monitor, the implementation of the Regulation (EU) 2019/1148 on the marketing and use of explosives precursors, and to provide expertise to the Commission when preparing delegated acts and guiding materials. These efforts contribute to the security of our citizens by enhancing the security of explosives precursors, and thus to contribute to the prevention of the use of Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs) by terrorists or criminals.

Task: Assist the Commission in relation to the implementation of existing Union legislation, programmes and policies

Additional Information

Selection procedure: Recognising the value of consulting all relevant stakeholders, the Chair may give observer status to organisations as defined in Rule 8(3) of the horizontal rules for Commission expert groups. Any organisation listed in the Transparency Register of the European Commission may express and explain their interest. Expressions of interest should be submitted in writing to the Chair. (Art. 7(2) of the Rules of Procedure)

Selection procedure: The Committee members are the Member States and the EEA countries. The competent authorities designated to implement Regulation (EU) 2019/1148 on the marketing and use of explosives precursors are invited to appoint their representatives to attend the Committee meetings. (Art. 1(3) of the Rules of Procedure)
