Selection procedure: The members of this group are representatives of civil society, representatives of groups of citizens whose health is affected by noise, stakeholders from industry, infrastructure managers, Member States and other public entities. Individuals appointed in a personal capacity, individuals appointed to represent a common interest and organisations are selected via a call for applications. Instead, in the case of the Member States and other public entities, it is for them to decide on whom to appoint. The call for applications is now closed (deadline was 13/10/2017).
Rules of procedure: This expert group has adopted the attached internal rules of procedure on 24/09/2018.

- 1.Dit type werkgroepen van de Europese Unie adviseert de Europese Commissie bij het opstellen van nieuwe wetgeving en nieuw beleid. Daarnaast houden ze zich bezig met controle, coördinatie en samenwerking met de lidstaten. Expertgroepen kunnen tijdelijk of permanent zijn ingesteld. De deskundigen worden niet betaald, maar krijgen een onkostenvergoeding. Expertgroepen zijn samengesteld uit deskundigen van nationale overheden, vertegenwoordigers van belangenorganisaties en/of experts uit het bedrijfsleven.
- 2.This Directorate-General proposes new environmental laws and monitors the implementation of the new measures by the member states. The main goal is to protect the environment for future generations and to encourage sustainable development.
