Scope: Limited

Mission: The mission of the EU SME Envoy, who chairs the Network, and the Network of SME Envoys is to ensure the implementation effort of the SME Strategy, in particular by contributing to the work of the Single Market Enforcement Task Force. The EU SME Enovy will fulfill this mission furthermore through a regular dialogue with the Regulatory Scrutiny Board, by filtering EU initiatives, in collaboration with SME stakeholders, to signal to the Commission those that merit close attention from an SME perspective, by contributing to the work of the Fit for Future platform and work with regional bodies and authorities; by continuing to accompany the implementation of the Small Business Act for Europe (SBA) and its Review by the Member States where appropriate; by accompanying the implementation of the Start- and Scale-up Initiative (SUI); by presenting to the European Commission progress at national level by fostering an exchange of best practices in SME policy implementation; by the discussion of future initiatives and key deliverables in SME policy at EU and Member State level. Meetings are held regularly with representatives of EU SME business organisations, to enable an improved dialogue between stakeholders and to benefit from input from the business community into the governance process.

Selection procedure: The members of this group are the SME Envoys of the Member States, nominated by the national governments. The group is chaired by the EU SME Envoy or Deputy EU SME Enovy. European level (SME) business organisations attend the meetings as observers. The Network of SME Envoys is an advisory group for the implementation of the SME Strategy and other related SME policy initiatives.
