A series of unique image projections on the walls of the Bratislava Castle on the night of 30 June - 1 July, will mark the handover of the Presidency of the EU Council from the Netherlands to Slovakia. The display is co-organised by the Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs of the Slovak Republic and the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in Bratislava, and generously sponsored by Philips Slovakia.

The castle projections will display a series of iconic images of both countries, including landscapes, historical sites, traditions, innovations, sports and representation of political cooperation. The event starts at nightfall (around 21.30) and will simultaneously light up one side of the castle with Slovak images and the other by Dutch images, switching sides at given intervals. With the castle sitting elevated above the city, these projections will be perfectly visible across many spots in Bratislava, mainly in the old city centre and alongside the Danube River.

The Castle Illumination show will be part of three events jointly organised by the Netherlands Embassy in Slovakia and the Slovak Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs in the framework of the EU Presidency handover.
