Letter of congratulation from President Donald Tusk to Enda Kenny, on his re-appointment as Taoiseach of Ireland - Main contents

On behalf of the European Council, I would like to congratulate you on your re-appointment as Taoiseach and wish you and your government every success for the future. It is good that a leader of your calibre and experience is returning to the European Council.

In the months ahead, there is an imperative as never before to deliver at the high political level, both in Europe and further afield. In this respect, Ireland's strong economy recovery and healthy democracy are encouraging.
