Film & Debate: Stand by your president

On March 14th 2015 the Montesquieu Institute and Filmhuis Den Haag runned the film Stand by Your President by director Ineke Smits. The film is about Sandra Roelofs, the former first lady of Georgia.

Sandra Reolofs was the first lady of Georgia from 2004 to 2013, when Mikheil Saakashvili was the president of Georgia. At that time the political situation in Georgia was tense because of an armed conflict between Georgia and Russia. Her husband transformed from a idealistic president to a powerful president.

After the film was shown director Ineke Smits, Caucasus expert Francoise Companjen i and member of European Parliament Kati Piri i discussed the film and answered questions from the audience.
