The Greater Team - Main contents

Today I met my greater team - colleagues from the DG Health. 850-strong staff is located in Brussels, Luxembourg and Grange, Ireland. I am particularly glad to join the team who has been working hard to make Europe a healthier and safer place.

Five years sounds like a long time: but it isn't. I am sure it will pass like a blink of an eye. We need to hit the ground running and continue ensuring that our policies and activities have a positive impact on the health of European citizens and make health systems in Member States more effective and efficient. I asked everybody to put forward their visions and concrete proposals that we could implement in partnership with other Commissioners and their teams in order to boost growth, jobs and investment.
