Lex building (LEX)

Since 2007 the Lex building has been home to the translation service of the General Secretariat of the Council¹. The units had previously been based in a number of buildings across Brussels. The Lex building brings all language units under one roof and hosts the new units added with the enlargement of the EU.

  In the Council, government ministers from each EU country meet to discuss, amend and adopt laws, and coordinate policies. The ministers have the authority to commit their governments to the actions agreed on in the meetings.
  Together with the European Parliament , the Council is the main decision-making body of the EU.
