Here we go - Relaunching Europe is travelling to Kiruna, Sweden’s northern-most city for an exciting debate on the sustainable development of the cities of tomorrow.
All over Europe, industrial and mining cities like Kiruna have brought wealth and prosperity to their communities and to their regions. Today, globalisation and climate change are putting local industries up front of important economic challenges, with consequences on the well-being and social cohesion of urban communities.
How can we best revive our local industries? What future for small cities? Are we ready to take up the environmental challenges? Is Europe doing enough to support innovation and local entrepreneurs? …
