The meeting of the Administrative Commission for the Coordination of Social Security Systems of the European Union (

On the 18-19 December in Vilnius a two-day meeting of the Administrative Commission for the Coordination of Social Security Systems of the European Union (EU) will take place. It will focus on the social guarantee issues of migrant persons.

That will be the last out of 14 events in the area of social security of the Lithuanian Presidency of the Council of the EU organized in Lithuania.

Usually two meetings of the Administrative Commission for the Social Security Systems of the European Union (EU) are organized during the semester. It has already become a tradition that one of the meetings is held at the State Member holding the Presidency of the EU Council.

Experts on social security of 28 EU Member States and Member States of the European Free Trade Association, as well as representatives of the European Commission, experts from a number of foreign universities will participate at the Commission meeting. A total number is 140 people who are going to participate. The conference of the final Project of the avoidance of fraud and errors in the granting of the benefits to migrant workers will be held before the Commission meeting held on the 17 December.

Administrative Commission for the Social Security Systems of the EU deals with practical issues concerning the granting of social security benefits for migrant persons in the EU, develops cooperation of the Member States in social security matters, aims to simplify and streamline the procedure for the exchange of information, deal with other social guarantees of migrant persons related issues. One of the main objectives of this Commission - to assure that the application of different national legislation does not harm the persons who use their right to travel to the other EU country to work or sojourn.
