Subject : Advisory Committee on Social Security for Migrant Workers, replacement of: – Mr Oliver RÖPKE, member who has resigned

  • 1. 
    The General Secretariat of the Council has been informed of the resignation of

    Mr Oliver RÖPKE (Austria), member of the above Committee in the trade union representatives category.

    Pursuant to Article 82(2) of Regulation (EEC) No 1408/71 on the application of social security schemes to employed persons, to self-employed persons and to members of their families moving within the Community, members and alternate members are appointed by the Council.

    In accordance with the usual procedure, the Austrian Government has nominated the following candidate to replace the member who has resigned for the remainder of his term of office, which runs until 22 September 2004:

    The Permanent Representatives Committee could accordingly suggest that the Council adopt the text of the Council Decision replacing a member of the Advisory Committee on Social

    Security for Migrant Workers, annexed hereto, as an "A" item on its agenda.

ANNEX COUNCIL DECISION

of

replacing a member of the Advisory Committee on Social Security for Migrant Workers

THE COUNCIL OF THE EUROPEAN UNION,

Having regard to Council Regulation (EEC) No 1408/71 of 14 June 1971 on the application of social security schemes to employed persons, to self-employed persons and to members of their

families moving within the Community 1 , and in particular Article 82 thereof,

Whereas:

(1) By its Decision of 23 September 2002 2 , the Council appointed the members and alternate

members of the Advisory Committee on Social Security for Migrant Workers for the period ending 22 September 2004.

(2) A member's seat in the trade union representatives category has become available as a result of the resignation of Mr Oliver RÖPKE.

(3) The Austrian Government has submitted a nomination for the member's seat which has become available,

HAS DECIDED AS FOLLOWS:

  • 1. 
    Ms Evelyn REGNER is hereby appointed a member of the Advisory Committee on Social

    Security for Migrant Workers to replace Mr Oliver RÖPKE for the remainder of the current term of office, which runs until 22 September 2004.

  • 2. 
    This appointment shall be published, for information, in the Official Journal of the European Communities.
