EU joins EFTA court case against Iceland

The EU has for the first time requested to join a case in the European Free Trade Association (EFTA) court, suing Iceland for not compensating UK and Dutch governments for losses following the collapse of the Icesave bank in October 2008. A referendum in Iceland toppled the Icesave repayments.
