G. (Grigorios) Varfis

De Griekse socialist Grigorios Varfis (1927) was als lid van de Europese Commissie belast met onder meer consumentenbescherming en regionaal beleid. In het eerste kabinet-Papandreou was Varfis onderminister van Buitenlandse Zaken. In die functie speelde hij in 1983 een half jaar een belangrijke rol bij het Griekse voorzitterschap van de EG. Ook had hij zitting in het Europees Parlement.
